ADOPTION

They are gazes that examine and seek closeness. First comes Kata’s gaze at herself and her own body – then come the careful glances that seek and find another. Anna discovers Kata, who lives near Anna’s youth centre, and asks her for an unusual favour, which already begins to draw Kata into her life as an accomplice and confidante. The two women circle one another, seeking in a peculiar way. The roles in their relationship to one another are constantly shifting, they are equally surfaces for reflection and projection for the other. Men only seem to exist outside of this radius. Their friendship is akin to a training field for self-discovery, regaining lost trust and transcending personal boundaries.
