In Russia the revolution is nearing an end, the Soviet Union is rising from the ruins of the old state. In the midst of these days of upheaval, a mysterious radio message reaches various military radio outposts all across the Earth. The engineer Loss interprets it as a message from Mars and is derided for his hypothesis. However, he ultimately sets off to the red planet, where a brutal ruling class holds the populace in virtual slavery. Alas, in the middle of an extra-terrestrial workers' revolution, the boundaries between dream and reality begin to blur. Early science fiction, in which the hammer and sickle liberate more than just the Earthly realm.
