Aital inherited his status as a shaman from his Yakutian ancestors: although he lives in a modern city, people treat him with reverence and believe that he possesses extraordinary powers. To help his son, Aital declares his willingness to deceive gullible neighbours, by pretending to connect them with the other world, for a reward. One day the shaman unknowingly crosses a line that he didn't even realise existed, forcing him to recognise that his feigned scenario is now real.
