Oleg (Aleksandr Yatsenko) is a talented emergency doctor who practices his craft passionately within a hospital setting. His penchant for repeatedly ignoring bureaucratic guidelines and “efficiency enhancing” austerity measures often finds him at odds with management. Oleg’s private life is not without its tensions either: he drinks more than is wise and his wife, the tough fellow doctor Katya, with whom he shares a one-room apartment, announces one day in a fit of despair that she intends to file for divorce. With ample empathy and quirky humour, Khlebnikov delivers his own socially critical take on the love story.
