CHORNOBYL 22

RheinMain Kurzfilmwettbewerb

When Russians invaded Ukraine in 2022, the infamous Chornobyl nuclear plant was an important point on the way of their assault against Kyiv. Filmmaker Radynski puts together the interviews of the first-hand witnesses, the shots of different parts of the area, the eloquent traces of the destruction the Russian troops caused and footage filmed with a phone that shows Russian military vehicles rushing through Chornobyl. This combination becomes a priceless comprehensive document capturing the essence and details of the Russian invasion for history – and, hopefully, for international justice as well.
