Leta, a single mother, finds herself in a difficult financial situation. When she and her one-year-old son are thrown out of their apartment, they find refuge with Sophie, an older, immobile woman, whose daughter Ariana has just hired Leta as a caregiver. Alas, Ariana, her new employer, falls victim to a fatal accident, thus cutting off Leta's only source of income. Still, Sophie's apartment and measly pension are a straw worth clutching at. Now, to keep a roof over her head, Leta must make sure Sophie stays alive, no matter what it takes.
