THE KEY FOR DETERMINING DWARFS, OR THE LAST TRAVEL OF LEMUEL GULLIVER

KLIČ… is a quasi-documentarian portrait that respects facts and reality, but also has a wonderful sense for cinematic presentation – not only in the re-enacted scenes. The film is dedicated to screenwriter and director Pavel Juráček, one of the most important figures of the “New Wave” in Czech cinema of the 60s. That Juráček was also a profound critic of his time is documented by his recently edited diaries that are the basis for Šulíks intimate and socially relevant portrait. The film shows Juráček as a promethean talent whose artistic and social dedication and masochistic lifestyle reflected the complexity of his times in an unusual way. In 2003, KLIČ… won the “Golden Lily” for best film at goEast.
