30-year-old Peter is so hungry that at night he dreams of eating his mother’s arm. Unmarried, unskilled and unemployed, he lives solely from his mother’s pension. When one day no payment arrives, he literally struggles to survive. His mother is in a sanatorium, and he is willing to try anything – even gainful employment – to get food. But finding work turns out to be more difficult than he thought: he’s just one among thousands doing whatever they can to make ends meet. Peter’s efforts, bizarre and hopeless in equal measure, send him from one catastrophe to the next in the course of this debut, a grotesque parody on modern capitalist Poland. European premiere.
