In the wee hours of the morning, taxi driver Sorin picks up fortyyear-old Cecilia in Jilava. It takes a little while for the ice to break, but in the vehicle’s interior an atmosphere of intimacy begins to grow on the road to Bucharest. Cecilia tells of her affair with a man in Jilava and Sorin talks about his sick mother. In the end, the two arrive back at the place they originally set out from together: it’s as if nothing really happened, though a new day has dawned.
