DRAGON'S RETURN

DRAGON’S RETURN tells a tale of love, hate and the search for a personal way out of loneliness. The potter Martin Lepiš’ peculiar ways make it easy for the other villagers to see in him the solitary cause of any misfortune they may encounter. He himself has lost his wife, his home and finally his freedom, albeit through false accusations. After many years of absence, he returns to his hometown to risk a brand-new start, but he is forced to face the fact that the events of long ago cannot be undone. The film is an adaptation of the book of the same title by Dobroslav Chrobák, first published in 1943. The female lead is played by Emilia Vášáryová, who also plays the lead in EVA NOVÁ, one of this year’s entries in the goEast Competition section.
