A handful of young soldiers are brought to a remote military base by bus, unannounced and without a mission. While they wait for further orders in the hot noonday sun, prisoner transports arrive at the compound at irregular intervals ... Set in an unspecified country in Eastern Europe, Vladimir Perišić’s first fiction feature shows a totally normal day in the life of a soldier. Through the simple, clinical portrayal of inhuman violence in the midst of everyday, mundane actions he makes war – its interdependencies of authority and obedience and the psychological abuse of young men – tangible in an unsettling manner.
