Marat is an elderly man that has been “working half of his life” at one place. On the eve of Independence Day, he is fired for not complying with the new standards: he doesn’t speak any foreign languages. This adds to his personal drama: his wife died a year ago – and his estranged son doesn’t even know about it. It takes time and effort but, in the end, Marat manages to reinvent himself and his place in this world.
