I DIED IN CHILDHOOD is a documentary about Sergei Paradzhanov, made by his nephew Georgi Paradzhanov. Rare photographs show Sergei Paradzhanov during the shooting of fi lms, at home, and in prison. The pictures are accompanied by a monologue with texts from letters, notes and the screenplay for the fi lmmaker’s uncompleted ISPOVED / THE CONFESSION. A surviving scene from ISPOVED / THE CONFESSION is included in the documentary. The fi lm screened out of competition at Cannes in 2004.
