IN THE NAME OF

Adam is a gay priest who works in a young offenders’ institution, where he finds it difficult to distract himself with pious thoughts. He is particularly fascinated and unsettled by the taciturn Łukasz. When praying doesn’t help, he jogs excessively to suppress his emotions. Soon he starts hitting the bottle. When rumours about his sexual preferences start flying about the village, he faces the threat of being transferred. Melodrama, comedy, pop, romance, and grandiose images – Małgorzata Szumowska‘s film, which won the Teddy Award at the 2013 Berlinale, offers all this in abundance.
