During Russia's full-scale military offensive against Ukraine, director Maciek Hamela volunteered to evacuate civilians from the front using a mini-bus. Women with small children, whole families, survivors of Russian torture, victims of targeted attacks. They all find temporary refuge in his vehicle, which Hamela steers through war-ravaged Ukraine with nerves of steel. Time and again, he's forced to improvise: a bridge ends abruptly, a night-time street turns out to be mined. Again and again, he asks questions and listens, with great empathy. Each new run forges a new community brought together by fate, as his passengers reveal their fears and dreams, share their feelings and provide one another with solace.
