JOHNNIE WATERMAN
Symposium
An old vagrant buries a dead filly and curses the village in which the nag was so brutally mishandled. The same place is the home of old Jańcio, who can turn back the wheel of time and work water miracles. “Stygma”, a vagrant adventurer who deceives naive Catholic peasants by allegedly working miracles, persuades Jańcio and his young wife Weronka to join his act. And now Jańcio degenerates into a greedy and hedonistic fairground attraction. Weronka eventually gives birth to a child with a forked tail... Working with poetic-metaphysical imagery and motifs from Polish folk legends, the film won awards at numerous festivals.
