Rashid Nugmanov, Ardak Armikulov, Seryk Aprymov and Talgat Temenov, veterans of the Kazakh New Wave, meet up with one another again. They reminisce about their student years at Moscow's VGIK film academy, about their first projects and how they attempted not only to gain a place in the sun, but to defend it too, through originality and force of expression. In the scope of this informal reunion, the venerable masters reveal both their personalities and, perhaps more surprisingly, their adherence to long-standing aesthetic and ethical principles.
