MOM AND OTHER LOONIES IN THE FAMILY

Berthá is 94 years old and has moved 27 times over the course of her life. With bubbly nostalgia, she reminisces and recounts to her daughter her experiences, covering four generations of family and the love of her life. She mixes up faces and stories with abandon in the process, since Berthá has dementia. Born into a crazy family, it was always her strategy to avoid conflict. The best solution: to pack up and move. The events of the 20th century did their part to keep her regularly changing addresses too. With its vivacious characters, witty quarrels and loving approach to detail, Ibolya Fekete’s film is great fun and invites the viewer at the same time to set off on a historical excursion.
