His characters, identified only by numbers, seem to be under arrest too. In an austere concrete structure, individuals number one to number ten lead their lives under the watchful eyes of armed “judges” and follow the rules that their god, number zero, dictates to them from the balcony above. Alas, the desire for freedom and the sudden appearance of a child who doesn’t care about the regulations threaten to fracture the order of this artificially constrictive world.
