ORATORIO FOR PRAGUE

Prague 1968

Jan Němec’s ORATORIO FOR PRAGUE shows recordings from the eve of the Prague Spring all the way to its ultimate suppression. A documentary film situated between hope and desperation: hippies, sit-ins, Soviet tanks, road blockades, dead bodies. If it weren’t for the courage displayed by Jan Němec and his team this unique material documenting the occupation of Prague from the Czech perspective would never have been created.
