A very hot day in August, a small village in Moldova: an old woman has died, young and old gather in order to say farewell to the deceased who was mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. Tradition collides with modern spirit, people returning from far away meet people who have never left the village. During the Panikhida – the orthodox burial-ceremony – an explosion of emotions, memories, facts and absurdities breaks open.
