RED RUBBER BOOTS
Portrait
At the time when Jasna's two children were kidnapped by Serbian soldiers during the Bosnian War, her daughter Ajla was nine-months-old and her son Amar four-years-old Now Jasmila Žbanić accompanies her, years after this horrific experience, as she visits the mass graves re-opened upon the war's conclusion, in order to search for the mortal remains of her children. Their corpses must have decayed in the meantime, she says, in a key scene that is almost impossible to bear – but Amar was wearing red rubber boots, they may have survived.
