RDEČE KLASJE addresses the problem of land collectivization immediately after World War II. A former partisan who is now a youth activist travels around the countryside on various Party assignments. In one village he must buy up the farmers’ harvest and convince them to join the co-operative association – Zadruga – that agitates against private property, although many small farmers believe they should own their land. After he falls in love, his agitational activities lead to a private misfortune and a discomfiting outcome of his political mission. He resorts to extreme measures…
