After contact with the unmanned research station Salyut-7 breaks off, two cosmonauts are sent up into space in order to prevent the station from crashing to Earth. Alas, docking with Saylut-7 is easier said than done, as the ground crew has ultimately lost all semblance of control over the space station. This elaborately staged historical space travel drama is based on real events and offers genre entertainment of the highest order.
