The story of a moribund love, of an erotic obsession. The art-historian Claudine and the naval engineer Chris fall in love at first sight. But the specialist for Hieronymus Bosch is terminally ill. Claudine wants to spend her last days in Venice and re-enact a vision of carnal bliss that she has studied on the central panel of Bosch’s famous painting “The Garden of Earthly Delights”. Like Dante’s Beatrice, she leads her lover through a web of meanings, re-enacting scenes from the painting with him, while Chris tries to capture as much of her fleeting life with his camera as he can...
