After completing his military service (if not his university degree), Leszczyc is getting by as a boxer in show tournaments. Aware he doesn’t stand a chance of winning the final, Leszczyc ponders whether to give up and concede a walkover, i.e. not even get into the ring. As usual, he finds he can’t make up his mind. Long shots, dramatically integrated pictures of buildings reminiscent of Antonioni’s work, a travelling camera and off-the-cuff dialogue: all staged with great originality against an almost grotesque reality in which the line between overbearing pathos and deft irony is thin indeed.
Proceded by Roman Polański´s TWO MEN AND A WARDROBE (14 min). Provided by / Sales: Lódz Film School
