Everything was better back in the day... This old saw gets a thorough debunking here when Zosia, 40 and fulfilled, suddenly finds herself back in May 1987 instead of January 2000 and has to come to terms with her past ¬ in concrete terms: with communism, with the fashion of the time and especially with her still-husband Darek. She has to get rid of him pronto in order to be free to meet Kuba, the real man of her dreams. With disarming honesty and a knack for plotting, she becomes the master of her own destiny. Machulski’s refreshing excursion into the rom-com genre offers a tongue-in-cheek take on recent Polish history.
