YEARS OF WAITING

As a young boy amid a group of men, Gjon Kodri leaves his village in Albania for America, in an attempt to escape from poverty. Left behind are the families, and Gjon's childhood sweetheart Helena. In the 1930s, he returns, only to be confronted time and again with the consequences of his emigration, while Helena is preoccupied with dreaming herself back to their shared childhood. YEARS OF WAITING is a sensitive and moving melodrama about the effects migration has on both sides of the leap of faith.
