Lora, a 17-year-old girl, has to cope with the death of her father. In a small Bulgarian village where time seems to stand still, her family and the other villagers expect her to throw herself wholeheartedly into mourning. From now on, she has to wear black, is not permitted to listen to music and has to observe various grieving rituals. Alas, Lora would rather continue to enjoy her youth – but her desire to lead a normal life is disrupted by the judgemental attitudes of the others, who force her into the role of an orphan.
